Browsing through our website you will find useful information about the Staff, our Study Program, administrative services and our educational and research activities.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Department of Speech and Language Therapy, which today has an enrolment of 1061 undergraduate students, prepare\u00a0students to work as Speech and Language therapists and to treat, support and care for those with communication, eating, drinking or swallowing disorders, as well as opening up a path into postgraduate research and\/or research career.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Professors of the Department are distinguished for their excellent studies and high level of theoretical knowledge and experience as well as for their internationally recognized research work which is posted on the Department\u2019s website. Many of the graduates of our Department have completed their postgraduate studies in prestigious European and American Universities and today they are employed within Greece and the EU or internationally. Additionally, a large number of the Department\u2019s graduates have successfully started their own private practice or they work in Schools,\u00a0Hospitals and other\u00a0organizations.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Study Program of the Department is modern and comparable to European and American University Programs, due to the fact that it was designed in accordance with the standards of those study programs, a few years ago. The Department\u2019s policy is to update its Study Program on a regular basis in accordance with scientific developments of the field in order to meet the needs of Speech and Language Pathology.\u00a0<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0In addition, the Department gives students the opportunity to study at EU Universities, within the framework of the European Erasmus student exchange program which subsidizes the cost of living for students in these countries. Furthermore, students of the Department have the opportunity of a paid employment in private or public institutions and clinics for 3 months as part of our University student internship program.
