Melina Nisioti studied at the School of Philosophy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and graduated from the Department of English Studies. She continued her studies in Great Britain, in Special Applications of Linguistics (Birmingham University) and Speech and Language Therapy (City University). Until 2001 she worked as a Speech and Language Therapist in a Special Education School. Since 2004 she has been an adjunct lecturer of the Department of Speech and Language Therapy at the ATEI of Patras and Kalamata. In 2012 she became an Adjunct Lecturer at the Department of Speech Therapy of ATEI in Ioannina. Since 2018 she has been a Lecturer at the Department of Speech Therapy in the University of Ioannina. She is also a member of the Panhellenic Association of Speech and Language Therapists and holds a license to practice as a Speech and Language Therapist in the UK
