Ο Διονύσης Ταφιάδης είναι απόφοιτος του Τμήματος Λογοθεραπείας του Πανεπιστημίου Πατρών (πρώην Α.Τ.Ε.Ι. Πατρών), έκανε μεταπτυχιακές σπουδές στο Παιδαγωγικό Τμήμα Δημοτικής Εκπαίδευσης του Πανεπιστημίου Ιωαννίνων και έλαβε το διδακτορικό του δίπλωμα από την Ιατρική Σχολή του Πανεπιστημίου Ιωαννίνων. Έχει πάνω από 40 δημοσιεύσεις σε ξενόγλωσσα και ελληνικά επιστημονικά περιοδικά αναγνωρισμένου κύρους.
